Advertising Design and Production Major (For Junior) 
Training Program

.Training Target

The major aims to train the overall developed students. They are excellent not only in academy but in morality and aesthetics as well. After studying, the graduates will have the basic knowledge of mass media, advertisement and marketing as well as the basic competence for designing, advertising and their creating and producing. The graduates can be practice-oriented talents in medium corporations, advertisement companies and state-owned units.

.Requirements
The students are required to study the basic laws of Marxism. The students should be familiar with the relevant subjects’ knowledge, such as economy, culture and art design. They know the advertisement’s present situation and development tendency. They understand the state’s laws and methods for document detection, material collect and market research. They have the basic capabilities for art designing and excellent communicative skills. Their healthy mentalities bring them high working ethics and strong team spirit. 
Our graduates have the following knowledge and abilities:
1. They should be morally excellent and dedicated.
2. They should be healthy mentally and physically and willing to participate in the society.
3. They should be creative and willing to practice in their works.
4. Communicative skills and team-work spirit are required.
5. They should be understanding of culture art and humanism are important and good at ads design and production.
6. They should be good at writing and proficient in computer application and English.

7. They know the design laws, politics, arrangement, design history and theory.

.Introduction to the Main Courses (Appendix II)

. Directions for Courses
1. The course of the major is divided into two types: lectures in classroom and practice out of the classroom. In order to realize the target of theory learning and practice, we arrange some principles in the subject learning For example: Instruction goes with practice; Lectures and practice are put together. The graduate design combines with examination. 
2. The lectures mainly teach the basic methods and knowledge for advertising. The lectures emphasize on the subject’s key points. The theory knowledge is strengthened by case studies. The lectures introduce the latest development in advertisement so that the students’ abilities can be enhanced. 
3. Practice teaching can strengthen the students’ knowledge they learned on the books.
Practice courses include: Design History and theory, The Basics of Painting and Design, Media and advertisement studies, Visual Communication Design etc: These courses are arranged some discussion and case studies.
English course: Students are focusing on some practical abilities, such as writing, listening and speaking.
Advertisement Writing lets students know the different writing styles of advertisement. It focuses on case presentation and case comment.
Basic Knowledge for Computer Application and Advertisement Design emphasize let students know how to manipulate.
4. Practice aims at examining if students learnt the basic knowledge of advertisement designing, and producing well. The practice courses make students know what advertisement circle are concerning at present so the students can work in the advertisement companies directly after their graduation. The examinations for the practice courses are skill tests and topic writing.
5. Except for the practical teaching course, all the other courses can be divided into five parts: general studies, major basic courses, major courses, required optional courses and selective courses. 
Part one: General Studies consists of two sections: section one is composed of the political theory courses, which are arranged according to the demand of the Ministry of Education, including Marxist Philosophy, Introduction to MaoZedong’s Thought, Introduction to DengXiaoping’s Theory, and Moral Education,etc. Section two is composed of the language basic courses and major theory courses, including College English, Practical Writing, Applied Computer Basics, Introduction to Art, Introduction to Design, and, Design History etc. 
Part two: Major Basic Courses are arranged as the preparation of learning the major courses. They can help the students grasp the wide range of essential knowledge and skill. The courses of Drawing, Color, Decoration Basics and Design Constitution are provided.
Part three: Major Courses are close related to the students’ major, which guide the students to learn the major knowledge and to practice. The courses of The Character and Layout Design, Web Design, Graphic Creation, Ads Documents, Ads Planning and Producing are The Advertisement and Poster Design provided.
Part four: The courses of Media and Ads Studies, Printing and Bindings Design, Fine Art Appreciation, Package Design are provided as required optional courses for the students.

Part five: The selective courses are available to all the university students on campus. These courses and lectures can further widen the students’ knowledge and they can also serve as a window open for the students to keep abreast of the latest development of art design.

Main Procedures for Practical Training

The practice plan includes military exercise, graduation practice, enterprise practice, graduation design and graduation report. The practice plan is divided into two parts: in the school and out the school. School practice includes computer design and creation. Practice out the school, which is arranged in some enterprises, mainly concerns how to strengthen skills and enhance design level.



Art Design Major (For Junior) Training Program

The graduates can be practice-oriented talents in arts design companies, relevant corporations and state-owned units.

They know the advertisement’s present situation and development tendency. They understand the state’s laws and methods for document detection, material collect and market research. Business Management (Artistic & Financial Management) Major For Bachelor

. Target

This major aims at cultivating “practical, complex, creative and internationalized” professionals who are well developed in moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic aspects,and have good command of basic knowledge of various aspects, such as economy and finance, business administration and culture and arts. They should also possess the basic techniques, methodology, and comprehensive application abilities of artistic & financial management. They should be qualified for the art-related posts of financial planning, operations and administration of enterprises within organizations of various kinds and levels.

.Requirements 
The students of this major mainly study theory and practical knowledge of arts and professional knowledge of artistic & financial management. They should have good command of relevant professional knowledge of management, marketing, economics and law, be well-versed in a practical skill of art. They should also possess advanced connoisseurship and practical operational abilities, and comprehensive ability to use foreign language in the field of artistic & financial management. 
Our graduates will have knowledge and abilities as follows: 
1. Comprehensively master basic theories and methodology of arts.
2. Master practical knowledge of artistic & financial management and marketing, economics, law, relevant to artistic market.
3. Be familiar with organizational structure and operational modes of artistic & financial management, and knowledgeable in the theoretical and practical trend of the subject.
4. Get to know the development of artistic & financial management of advanced countries and its characteristics.
5. Have high connoisseurship and practical operational abilities.
6. Be well-versed in a practical skill of art.
7. Have strong abilities of verbal and written expression.
